New Order are on tour in North America for the first time in 7 years. Just saw them at the Greek Theatre (one of my favorite music venues in LA) this past Sunday. They played most of their hits as well as a few Joy Division songs. Be sure to check them out if they are in your area! Unfortunately, they will only be playing 7 dates:
10/5 San Francisco - Oakland Fox Theatre 10/7 Los Angeles - Greek Theatre 10/10 Denver - Broomfield 1st Bank Center 10/12 Dallas - Palladium 10/18 - New York City - Roseland 10/21 - Chicago - Aragon Ballroom 10/23 - Toronto - Sony Center
The Pharcyde performed their debut LP Bizarre Ride II album in its entirety last night at the Eagle Rock Music Festival. Amazing live shows, tons of food trucks and vendors... all for $10! Can't beat the price and the money is donated to the Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock.
Born and bred in Los Angeles, Retna is exhibiting new paintings, works on paper and site-specific installations at Michael Kohn Gallery. "He typically paints to music and allows the rhythmic beat and flow to partly guide his intuitive and emotive script." - MK Gallery. His work will be on display September 15-October 27, 2012.
One of the best things about Los Angeles are all the FREE outdoor concerts held in the summer. Nosaj Thing will be playing at the Levitt Pavilion MacArthur Park this Thursday, July 26th at 7:00pm. This should be amazing as I hear he puts on a great show and it's free so you have nothing to lose! Find out more info on the event at www.levittla.org.
